This fabulous train by Bachmann depicts the years following the Civil War, and how the wild west offered hope to a recovering nation. The Comstock Lode promised much-needed wealth to help fund the reconstruction of the Union, but a railroad was needed to carry passengers and freight from remote silver mines to the boomtowns that sprang up around them. This train got its name from the Virginia & Truckee Railroad Company which answered the call with trains like our Silverado. As with most G gauge models it is ideal for large garden railway designs.
